Hyperledger announced on Wednesday that it has crossed the 250 members mark with the addition of 9 new members. The latest general members to join the community are Coil, ChainDigit, Chainyard, DigiCert, LG CNS, Omnitude, Tierion, and UTRUST.
Hyperledger is a multi-project, multi-stakeholder effort that consists of ten business blockchains and distributed ledger technologies. Participants here form together to contribute code to each others’ projects which advances the framework and tools and further continues to develop the community. Hyperledger Fabric 1.2 is one of the recent milestones of this initiative.

“While July is traditionally a quiet month, we’ve been quite busy hitting some key community and technology milestones. Heading into the second half of the year, we are focused on continuing our growth and advancing our open source, multiple-framework approach to meet the increasingly diverse applications for blockchain technology.”, Brian Behlendorf, the Executive Director of Hyperledger said. “As we plan for the Hyperledger Global Forum, we will be calling on these new members and the entire ecosystem to keep driving the vision and technology forward to scale to meet the global demand for blockchain-powered businesses.”, he further added.
The company invited the worldwide community to take part in the Hyperledger Global Forum from December 12-15 in Basel, Switzerland to enhance the growth and promote collaboration.
With the increasing demands for blockchain applications globally, the collaborative’s interest in this business sector is likely to grow deeper. And with blockchain spendings expected to hit new all-time highs globally in the next few years, companies from IT, finance, and many other sectors all around the world would be on the lookout for solutions that deliver efficiently, and at a better and lower cost.
