These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of jumpstartblockchain.com (the "Site"), operated by Jumpstart Blockchain ("we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
The Site
Jumpstart Blockchain publishes articles about blockchain development and a directory of blockchains. The Site is free to use and is supported by advertising. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.
Your account
- You can sign in with your Google account. You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA and UK) to create an account.
- Keep your Google account secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account on the Site.
- Choose a username that doesn't impersonate anyone, infringe anyone's rights or mislead.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time through our contact page.
Content you publish
Signed-in members can write and publish articles.
- You keep ownership of what you write.
- By publishing on the Site, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, format, promote and distribute your content on the Site and in connection with it (for example in newsletters and on social media). This licence ends when your content is deleted from the Site, except where it has already been shared or where we must keep it by law.
- You confirm that your content is original or that you have the right to publish it. It must not infringe anyone's copyright or other rights, and it must not break these Terms or the law.
- Articles go live when you publish them. We may edit them for formatting, or remove any content at our discretion, including content we believe breaks these Terms.
- Opinions in member articles are the authors' own.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break any law or anyone else's rights using the Site;
- publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, deceptive, or that contains malware or spam;
- interfere with the Site, its security, or other users, including by probing for vulnerabilities without our permission;
- scrape the Site in bulk, or use automated means to access it in a way that places unreasonable load on it;
- click your own ads, generate artificial traffic, or otherwise manipulate advertising;
- impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
We may suspend or remove your access, and remove content, if you break these Terms.
Intellectual property
The Site's design, logo and content, other than content published by members, belong to Jumpstart Blockchain or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may:
- read and share links to our pages;
- quote short excerpts with attribution and a link to the source;
- use the code examples in articles in your own projects.
You may not republish our articles in full, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement, without our written permission.
Product and network names such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Hyperledger and Chainlink are trademarks of their respective owners. Their use on the Site doesn't imply any affiliation or endorsement.
Advertising and third-party links
The Site shows ads from Google AdSense, Ezoic and direct advertisers, and articles link to other websites. We don't control and aren't responsible for third-party ads, websites, products or services. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that any content is complete or current. See also our Disclaimer.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jumpstart Blockchain and its contributors won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. Nor will they be liable for any loss of data, profits, revenue or business, arising from your use of the Site or its content. This includes, for example, deploying a contract or sending a transaction based on an article, and any funds lost as a result. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to 100 US dollars.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions or limitations. In those places, they apply only to the extent the law allows.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Jumpstart Blockchain harmless from any claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- your content;
- your use of the Site;
- your breach of these Terms or of anyone's rights.
Termination
You can stop using the Site at any time. We may suspend or end your access at any time if you break these Terms, or if we need to for legal or security reasons. The sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including content licences already used, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the Site after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
