Hyperledger has announced the launch of its most recent Enterprise Blockchain project, Hyperledger Grid. The solution according to the company is an ecosystem of technologies, frameworks, and libraries that work together, giving developers the choice to use components that are best fit for their industry or market model.
Primary contributors are agribusiness company Cargill and two of the maintainers of the Hyperledger Sawtooth blockchain protocol, Intel and Bitwise IO. This is the first project focused on a particular industry.
The official blog says that the Grid aims to provide reference implementations of supply chain-centric data types, data models, and smart contract based business logic with industry best practices; and showcase in practical methods for combining components from the Hyperledger stack into a single, effective business solution.

The project is not an application. Instead, it is a software development kit for developing supply chain smart contracts and client interfaces. It makes use of the javascript-based WebAssembly smart contract engine Sabre.
