The meme coin that became a payments network.

Started in 2013 as a joke based on the Doge meme and derived from Litecoin's code. Blocks come every minute, issuance is a flat 10,000 DOGE per block with no supply cap, and most of its hash power comes from merged mining with Litecoin (AuxPoW).

How does Dogecoin's merged mining with Litecoin work?

Litecoin miners commit a Dogecoin block hash in their coinbase, so any Scrypt hash below Dogecoin's easier target counts as AuxPoW. Dogecoin gets Litecoin's hashrate but also shares its pools and risks.
