Stratis has today announced a partnership with UK Meds, the UK’s fastest growing online pharmacy, to implement Stratis Blockchain technology across UK Meds operations and with plans to collaborate with the wider online pharmacy industry.
UK Meds deals with about four thousand patient prescriptions online on daily basis. UK Meds is going to implement the Stratis Blockchain tech to advance the patients' safety over online pharmacy sector exclusively, by lowering the occurrences of patients ordering multiple prescriptions.
By making a log of each order for a prescription on a common and immutable distributed ledger over a group of UK online pharmacies, the system makes it certain that patients can order only prescribed volume of medication. Doctors will also be able to cross-reference their patients. While requesting, if there has been any instance of the previous request to medication, that will be referenceable using Stratis’ technology.
"Despite screening our own customers by IP addresses, phone numbers, cookies and many other factors, there isn’t a cross-industry solution to identify patients attempting to obtain multiple orders of drugs, with opioids being a particular example. UK Meds will also use Stratis technology in its supply chain and other logistics operations. Each consignment will be logged on the blockchain right at the time of production from the manufacturer, in the course of distribution, and as well as on arrival. This will ensure the fine condition, safety, and security of the pharmaceutical shipments.
