IBM To Launch Blockchain Research Centre At Columbia University

Recently, IBM has launched a new research center in collaboration with Columbia University to boost blockchain development applications and improved education initiatives.

The research center is located on the Manhattan campus of Columbia University in New York. Later this year, a team of faculty members of Columbia University and some research scientists from IBM will be reviewing proposals for blockchain “curriculum development, business initiatives, and research programs.”

The center will also be providing internships to students for improving their technical skills and to professionals having a keen interest in the tech.

John H. Coatsworth, Columbia University provost stated-

"This new Center leverages Columbia's academic strength in data science and engineering as well as our breadth in business, public policy, and law, among many other disciplines. We anticipate that, through this partnership, we will significantly advance the scholarship and applications of data-sharing and data-transparency technologies. The new Center further solidifies New York City as a hub for technical innovation.”

This is a great initiative by IBM to team up with the top university in the U.S. to get a better understanding of blockchain and contribute to the blockchain technology.
