Recently, Binance announced its official partnership with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), as an official sponsor of the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments.
AFCON, the largest international men's football championship in Africa, kicked off on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Olembe Stadium in Yaounde, with the host nation Cameroon facing Burkina Faso. Over 160 countries will live broadcast the tournament with an audience of more than 300 million.
CAF's General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba, said, "Through this partnership with CAF, Binance will connect further with its users and the African community through football. CAF is ready to embrace blockchain-based technology and its impact on the future of African football development. I am certain that together with Binance, we can take African football to a new level."

Binance said that this partnership is a part of its mission to drive blockchain adoption and enable greater access to financial services for the world’s unbanked, the exchange has already given free crypto education to more than 541,000 Africans since 2020, on subjects ranging from user protection to building a career in blockchain.
Binance believes that the African continent could lead the future of the blockchain industry and it intends to continue its efforts in pushing the mainstream adoption of crypto.
As part of the partnership, Binance will also be the official partner of CAF's social media content, which will be promoted across CAF’s social media channels and across all venues in five cities in Cameroon.
