Apple Bans Cryptocurrency Mining In Apps

Recently, Apple has announced the ban of cryptocurrency mining on the iPhone and iPad with the release of new developer guidelines at Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
 
Moreover, the company has also added new language to its App Store for reviewing its guidelines related to cryptocurrency.
 
According to the revised guidelines “Apps, including any third party advertisements displayed within them, may not run unrelated background processes, such as cryptocurrency mining.

Last month, Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, mentions about the cryptocurrencies guidelines where apps were allowed to facilitate such transactions with all state and federal laws for the territories in the app functions whereas the ICO language was nearly identical as well.
 
In the past, the company has also delisted the Coinbase and another type of crypto-related apps from its App Store.
 
The other app known as Calendar 2 was found to be using computers of the customer in the mining process of the cryptocurrency Monero, in exchange, the users were receiving free access to premium features. Further, this app has also been delisted by the company but later reinstated.
 
On the other hand, the company informs earlier in 2018 regarding scammer stole more than $75,000 in Bitcoin from Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
 
The company has updated its App Store Guidelines
